League: American Association

History: The Blues were a top Yankees affiliate in 1947 and the American Association pennant winner that year. Cliff Mapes led the league in RBIs, and Kansas City led the AA in attendance, with over 379,000 fans going through the turnstiles at Blues Stadium, later renamed Municipal Stadium rebuilt for the arrival of the Athletics from Philadelphia. Rookie Mickey Mantle was briefly sent down to KC in 1951 when he got off to a slow start at the plate in New York.
